Define the audio task first

AI toys and education companions may need speech, prompts and short audio. Desktop robots and voice assistants may need speaker playback and microphone capture, with half-duplex or full-duplex operation depending on the interaction design and audio system. Portable voice terminals emphasize thickness, battery and connectors. Wearable AI devices and smart badges emphasize weight, orientation, noise and alert audibility. Speech intelligibility, alert transients and music response are different priorities and should be defined separately.

The Tuya T5-AI documentation lists one microphone path, an audio loopback path and one speaker path. Its board uses a 1.25 mm speaker connector and specifies a maximum 2 W/4-ohm drive condition for that board. It also discusses cavity isolation, loopback, outlet direction and AEC validation. These are Tuya board conditions, not Jiachuan product specifications.

The Espressif ESP-VoCat documentation describes a voice-interaction development kit for toys, smart speakers and central-control products with a dual-microphone array. Palmimo DevKit documentation describes a tabletop robot with a camera, microphone and speaker. These sources show real multi-component audio design problems; they do not establish a Jiachuan supply relationship or model fit.

Freeze the speaker envelope, cavity, outlet, mounting and connector before the board, battery, antenna and microphone layout are fixed. Otherwise the battery may compress the cavity, the grille may block the outlet, or the microphone may capture playback leakage. An enclosed speaker can stabilize part of the component boundary, but it still requires device-level validation. Start with Jiachuan’s speaker category or enclosed-speaker category, then check the exact datasheet and drawing.

Validate mechanical fit and connection first, then impedance, amplifier output, rated operation and limiting. Measure frequency response, SPL, F0 and distortion under defined conditions, and finish with speech clarity, echo, howling, leakage and structural noise in the real housing.

FAQ

Does every AI toy need an enclosed speaker? No. The housing, cavity, outlet and mounting define the choice.
Do speech, alerts and music use identical criteria? No. Define the primary audio task.
Can the Tuya 2 W/4-ohm condition be applied to a Jiachuan model? No. It is a board-level condition.
Does Jiachuan provide an AI module or robot? This article covers documented acoustic components only.
